Bridging Gaps, Widening Smiles
As part of a team of ten cadets, we participated in the Bangalore Medical Congress 2022 held at Command Hospital Air Force (CHAF), Bangalore. We presented on pediatric oncology, focusing on advancements in diagnosis, treatment, and survivorship care. Our collaborative effort highlighted the challenges faced in low-resource settings. Winning first prize was an enriching experience that deepened my interest in pediatric cancers and the role of multidisciplinary teamwork in research.

POST PARTUM DEPRESSION- Beyond Baby Blues
At the Bombay Medical Congress 2023 hosted at INHS Asvini, Mumbai, our team of ten cadets presented on postpartum depression. We emphasized its widespread underrecognition, the psychological toll on mothers, and innovative strategies for early screening and intervention. Securing the first prize underscored the importance of addressing mental health in maternal care and strengthened our resolve to advocate for comprehensive perinatal health programs in the future.

In the Bangalore Medical Congress 2023 at Command Hospital Air Force (CHAF), Bangalore, our ten-member team presented on the growing burden of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) in rural India. We analyzed healthcare access gaps, preventive measures, and community-centered strategies for NCD control. Winning first prize was a proud moment for the team and inspired a stronger commitment to working on public health issues impacting rural populations.

SICKLE CELL DISEASE- The fault in our genes
At the Bombay Medical Congress 2024 held at INHS Asvini, Mumbai, our team of ten cadets participated with a presentation on sickle cell disease. We explored its genetic basis, clinical manifestations, and the unique challenges faced by affected populations in India. Although we did not win a prize, the experience was invaluable in enhancing our understanding of hemoglobinopathies and refining our skills in academic research and team-based presentations.
